Bible

As part of the Church of God movement, these are our beliefs:

The Church receives the scripture as its authority in matters of faith and practice.  Its understanding of Christian truth, as contained therein, as in essential accord with the belief of the Church of God, but it has no statement of creed aside from the New Testament.

      • We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God on which we place our beliefs.  (2 Timothy 3:16)

      • We believe there is ONE God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 28:18-20, John 14:26, 1 John 5: 7 & 8, Ephesians 2:14-18)

      • We believe there is ONE way to the Father and eternal life, which is through His son Jesus. (John 14:6)

      • We believe the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1), in His virgin birth (Luke 1:26-33), in His sinless life (1 Peter 2:21-22), in His miracles (John 10:25), in His vicarious and atoning death through shed blood (Mark 15:33-47), in His bodily resurrection (John 20:1-17), in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Luke 24:45-5), Acts 2:33), and in His personal return in power and glory.  (Mark 13:24-27, 32-37)

      • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.  (Titus 3:5)

      • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a righteous life.  (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, John 16:7-11)

      • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (Matthew 7:13-14, John 3:16, 2 Thessalonians 1:9)

      • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.  (1 Corinthians 1:10-15
